Why Juneteenth 2025 is celebrated?
This day name is a portmanteau of the words “June” as well as “nineteenth”, as it is honors June 19, 1865, when the Major General Gordon Granger passed the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in the city Texas when the American Civil War comes to end.
How is Juneteenth celebrated in the United State?
In the early days, the celebrations of this day were very formal in nature such as attending church services, gathering of some people that would take part in dancing and reading the Emancipation Proclamation.
What we find very interesting is that even though the Blacks were free and the discrimination against the color of people was so high that people had to celebrate this special day Juneteenth on the outskirts of cities.
Today, though the day in itself has lost its significance within the younger generation and the older generation still celebrates this day and tries very hard to tell young people about the importance of Juneteenth.
It is very important to learn about this day so that everyone understands what people had to suffer and fight for their freedom in the older days. Everyone should learn about Juneteenth 2025, I advise you to take some time and learn about this important day, and also celebrate it with the local black community.
